About Ximena
Ximena Heasman is a colombian designer. She got a degree as Product Designer at The National University of Colombia in Bogota where she had her first exposure to Ceramics. Interested in nature and the ways we relate to it Ximena moves to Tabio, a small rural town, where she had her own studio and brand called Espiral Cero. For her that name Espiral Cero (Spyral 0) meant to return to the initial point and have a look at things that we may have forgotten or to see them in a way that we might have not found before.
There she join the local group of artists and craft people developing different projects such as group exhibitions, work with the children and mothers of the community and design and making of traffic signs for the town made in ceramics.
Her style has strong influences from her cultural roots and her theme is mankind and the joy and beauty of the relationships between people and with nature. Also the importance of symbols, rituals and festivities.
Few years later Ximena came to London to concentrate on creating ceramics and jewellery where she was a member of The East Finchley Open Group of Artists and Craft people. Ximena now lives in Forest Row, East Sussex and she is still a member of the London Potters.
Exploring other areas of design Ximena has also worked with Graphic and Web design. She currently works at Concentrico Design.
